10-day self-drive safari in Namibia: Nature and Wildlife Galore – Gold
Namibia is just sand and silence? Quite the contrary! This 10-day route takes you to the green and sumptuous side of the country. You start your adventure in the Caprivi Strip, which is now called Zambezi. This narrow strip of land is connected to Botswana’s Okavango Delta and filled woodland, rivers and floodplains, and as such teeming with life. See elephants, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles as well as various bird and antelope when driving through the Bwabwata National Park to the Mahango Game Reserve and Rundu.
The world-famous Etosha National Park and the Ongava Game Reserve is where your adventure continues. Explore even more wildlife and natural wonders – why not during a night game drive under the stars?
Go from park to park in your own car, and join guided activities in the beautiful all-in lodges where you’ll be staying. This journey takes you to such remote areas that sometimes your phone or Wi-Fi won’t work any more. Maps on phones or GPS devices luckily also work offline. And of course, you get an old-school paper map, clear directions and the GPS coordinates for your hotels from us.
In Bwabwata National Park and Mahango Game Reserve, you go on your own game drives. In Etosha National Park and Ongava Game Reserve a guide accompanies you on the game drives. Upon arrival at your lodge in Etosha and Ongava, you can pick two activities (per day) to add to your program. This can be a guided game drive, but also a guided nature walk, sundowner or night game drive. All these excursions are included in the price, take half a day max, are guided, and might be joined by other guests (unless you book a private excursion).
