Your guide to Africa's wonders

We travelled during the shoulder season for our first time in Africa, and had the best of luck with every aspect; the planning was easy and effortless, we felt very taken care of throughout the entire process, and our guide David was fantastic! David was super knowledgeable about the animals, the parks, conservation efforts, and the history of the country. We enjoyed our time Uganda a lot and would recommend it to anyone!

Our safari trip in Uganda was honestly one of the most beautiful and unforgettable experiences of our lives. Uganda is an incredible country: the landscapes are breathtaking, the wildlife is extraordinary, and the people are some of the kindest and most welcoming we have ever met. We saw so many amazing animals and every day felt like a real adventure. We have already recommended this experience with Safari Africano to many friends and family because it was a life-changing trip. Overall, the itinerary was well organized and everything worked smoothly. Having a private guide for the whole journey was definitely comfortable, especially because it was reassuring to have someone driving, explaining things, and accompanying us throughout the safari. That said, there are a few points that we think could improve the experience for future travelers. First of all, we would not recommend Rushaga Gorilla Lodge. We already explained the reasons in detail directly to both the guide and the travel agent during the trip, so we will not repeat everything here, but unfortunately it was the only accommodation where we did not very feel comfortable. Another important suggestion concerns the golden monkey trekking itinerary. We strongly recommend sleeping directly in the golden monkey area the night before the trek, instead of staying in Bwindi. In our case, after the gorilla trekking, we actually had the whole day free because we found the gorillas very quickly and finished early. We basically spent the rest of the day resting for many hours. The next day, however, we had to wake up around 4 a.m., drive for about 4 hours, do a 2–3 hour trek in the forest, then continue with another 6–7 hour transfer followed by a night safari. It was exhausting and unnecessary. It would make much more sense to transfer to the golden monkey area the evening before, so travelers only have one long transfer after the trek instead of two in the same day. Regarding our guide, overall we had a positive experience with Emmanuel because he was knowledgeable and explained many interesting things during the trip. However, we also believe the experience could have been warmer and more engaging. At times he seemed nervous or not very approachable, and occasionally the way he answered made us feel slightly uncomfortable. We travel a lot and have had many guides in different countries, and while he was definitely competent, he was not the most friendly or welcoming guide experienced. Often we received information at the very last moment, once we had already arrived somewhere. Overall okay, we absolutely recommend him but at the end of the trip, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a just a guide rather than to a friend; personally, we would have loved to build a warmer connection and even leave with a hug, but unfortunately the atmosphere never really became open enough for that. Still, these aspects did not take away from the beauty of the journey itself. This trip was absolutely extraordinary and something we will remember forever. Uganda completely stole our hearts, and despite a few imperfections, this was truly one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. At first, we were honestly a little scared to send such a large amount of money to an online agency, but in the end it was absolutely worth it: everything went very smoothly, we were extremely satisfied with the experience, and we would definitely use this tour operator again in the future. Considering the overall experience, this trip offered truly extraordinary value for money and exceeded our expectations in so many ways.

10 days in Kenya. We had a great combined trip to lake Nakuru,Masai Mara, lake Naivasha and Diani beach our driver John took good care of us, we saw the big 5 and relaxed in Diani. The whole staff is very helpfull.

We had a great trip! Nadia made a good plan for us en after some changes it looked good on paper. In real life it turned out to be the best! The first 2 days in Nairobi were good. Good hotel, nice trip to the town and good food. After that we went on a 9 day safari with our guide Victor. He showed is all the animals we wanted to see (except the snake). He knew so much about the animals and told us everything. Knew the answer to our questions. Always in a good mood, asking us what we wanted and with a really good sense of humor. He is also a really good driver, we always felt safe in the car. He made our trip unforgettable. The last days of relaxing at diani beach were great. We had the time of our lives.

We had an amazing week on Safari with our guide Mohsin. He knew all the animals, could spot them from such a distance where I even had trouble find them with my binoculars, and knew all the roads so well. Also, he's a very experienced driver and knows the car in-and-out. We also had such a good time on personal level, having fun and making jokes, exchanging ideas and tips... I can only highly recommend, and will be happy to book any time again (with Mohsin of course!)

Afrika Safari Trips organised for us a fabulous 19 day trip across Uganda (9 days), Tanzania (6d) and Kenia (4d). When preparing, Renate worked diligently with us to customize our trip. Once we where in Africa, she also regularly checked in with us. When a flight was changed, she was there together with the country responsible to have everything arranged for us. We also had great guides. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Each of them always brought us very close to wonderful animal sightings. In Uganda we had a well balanced mix of the different parks, of game drives as well as boat safaris: Murchinson Falls, Kibale, Queen Elisabeth, incl Ishasha sector (recommended!), and Bwindi. Afrika Safari also ensured we had great lodgings within the hotels/resorts, beautiful rooms, great views, and excellent service. Emmanuel was our driver and guide in Uganda. His passion and drive, his warm personality, his knowledge and connections made our trip the best part of the whole experience. He knew where to be when, he also adapted our planning to have the most optimal experience. The most amazing experiences we had in Uganda were being the only ones at a tree where a leopard was just eating its kill, as well as seeing the Gorillas. I do think Emmanuel had a hand into the decision of which gorilla family we visited. :-) His professionality was also found back in the logistics, a clean car every day, more than sufficient water, as well his guidance and tips when we were arriving in our lodgings. His eyesight is also incredible for spotting animals, not only in the parks but during our travel days, e.g. 3 shoebills in the fields on our drive back to Entebbe. In Tanzania we combined a walking safari, with Lake Manyara, Serengetti, the Nogorongoro Crater, and a bike tour followed by a local lunch. Our guide in Tanzania was Fari. He is also very professional and explains about the animals, the parks, the vegetation. The most beautiful experiences in Tanzania were staying in the Serengeti NP itself (recommendation!!), seeing a pack of wildebeest (>400) running through the NP, as well as seeing up close a lion tribe with 5 lionesses, 17 cubs and 2 lions. During our short trip in Kenia, we visited mainly the Masai Mara. Simon, a Masai, was our guide. It was very clear he knew the Masai Mara very well. The most beautiful experiences were the closeby sigthing of a rhino with her youngster, as well as having lunch al fresco in the Masai Mara. Simon knew how to pick great spots! A wonderful experience!

We had an unforgettable trip with Africa Safari Trips! Our guide Nico made the experience truly fantastic and always listened to our wishes. Every day he asked which animals we wanted to see, and time after time he managed to make it happen, often even beyond our expectations. He also involved us in the planning, so we always knew exactly what our days would look like. No question was ever too much for him, and he always had the right answer. The accommodations were all beautiful, and we received a warm welcome everywhere we stayed. The staff were helpful and made us feel genuinely at home. Thanks to the excellent organization of Africa Safari Trips, we didn’t have to worry about a thing and could fully enjoy our journey. A trip that truly exceeded all our expectations!
