Epupa Falls sunset experience

As the sun starts to drop, head out around 5 or 6 PM for a sundowner overlooking the Epupa Falls. From the viewpoint, you see the sun slip behind the Baines Mountains on the Angolan side while the Kunene River tumbles over the falls below. The main drop is 37 metres, with water also flowing through more than 100 side channels, creating an impressive scene as the colours begin to change in the evening light. The experience lasts one to two hours and includes drinks and snacks. As you settle in, the mist and foam from the falls catch the last rays of sunlight, while the river, palms and baobabs take on the warmer tones of sunset. Once the sun has disappeared behind the mountains, it’s time to return to the lodge.
