The Living Museum of the Damara sits 10 kilometres north of the Twyfelfontein rock engravings along the D2612, where a 3-hour visit introduces you to Damara traditions and daily life. A Damara guide takes you through activities such as blacksmithing, leather tanning, jewellery making, traditional games, singing and dancing. You also see the Holy Fire lit and tended (made by spinning a stick against dry tinder until it catches, without using matches!). Your visit helps support the community and its work to preserve Damara culture.
