Ongava Game Reserve shares an unfenced boundary with Etosha National Park, allowing wildlife to move freely between the two areas. Known for its conservation work with black and white rhinos, this private reserve gives you access to the same wildlife found in Etosha, but with fewer vehicles on the roads and a feeling of exclusivity. Explore the arid plains and woodland at your own pace, linger around waterholes for as long as you like, and take your time to secure the perfect picture. Keep your eyes peeled for lion, elephant, zebra, giraffe, gemsbok and a range of antelope. The waterholes are practical to focus on, but don’t forget to look up from time to time; the birdlife is amazing, with many of Etosha’s over 340 recorded species residing here.
