Start the day on foot with a guided sunrise walk through the mopane forest surrounding Etosha Village, close to the gate to Etosha National Park. As the first light filters through the trees and the bush slowly wakes up, you follow a winding path with a knowledgeable guide who knows exactly where to look for the details you might walk straight past – animal tracks in the sand, indigenous trees, birds and signs of wildlife moving through the area. Along the way, you’ll spend some time at a hide and simply see what turns up. This walk is all about discovering the smaller stories of the bush and enjoying that lovely hour in the crisp morning light. With a coffee-and-rusks break along the way, this is a lovely way to start an Etosha day.
