Kaoko Mopane Lodge and Camping

Kaoko Mopane Lodge is located approximately 6 kilometres southeast of Opuwo in the Kunene region, hidden between mopane trees along the edge of an ancient river. The lodge operates entirely on solar power, with its own greenhouse supporting the restaurant, and offers 11 rooms (one of which suitable for families) and 7 private campsites. All accommodations have their private terrace overlooking the dry river bed where birds congregate throughout the day. The spacious rooms include an ensuite bathroom, mosquito nets, a fan, a coffee station and a fridge. The private campsites each have their own ablution facilities, hot water, a 220 volt powerpoint and a braai. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge. The restaurant, bar and pool area offer the perfect place to relax before venturing into Namibia’s remote Kaokoland.
