Chiwani Mowani Mountain Camp

Stuck between enormous ochre-coloured boulders in the heart of Damaraland, Mowani Mountain Camp blends so seamlessly into the landscape that it almost seems to disappear into the rocks. The camp offers 12 luxury king or twin-bedded rooms with traditional thatched roofs, all equipped with ensuite bathrooms, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, a safe, limited Wi-Fi and private viewing decks. One of the highlights is the swimming pool, carved into the natural rock formations. Other facilities include a bar, a dining area and an outdoor boma with a crackling fire pit. A variety of guided excursions is available, and short walking trails around the camp introduce the area’s unique flora and fauna. Mowani is solar-powered and actively promotes recycling, helping to preserve this remarkable area for future generations.
