Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark Lodge is a hotel built of wood in the shape of a boat with three decks and as such – like Noah’s Ark – it attracts lots of wildlife. In this case, however, the animals are not in but below the boat near a waterhole and salt lick that can be seen from the rooms.
Located in the jungle of the Aberdare National Park since the 1970s, this lodge offers small rooms but big chances to see the wildlife from the various balconies. There is also a walking bridge that allows for great views. All in all a good place for an overnight after safaris in Aberdare or for a stop-over en route to other parks.
