Sunset boat cruise at the Hakusembe River Lodge

As the heat of the day starts to fade, hop aboard for a relaxed cruise along the Kavango River at Hakusembe River Lodge, just west of Rundu. For 1.5 hours, you’ll drift past sandy banks, reeds and riverine vegetation while the sounds of northern Namibia take over – from splashing hippos to the chatter of waterbirds and local life along the riverbanks. It’s less about ticking off wildlife and more about enjoying the river while the landscape slowly changes as evening approaches. Then comes the best bit: sunset. Find a comfortable spot on board, enjoy a drink and some light snacks, and watch the last rays turn the river golden.
