The drive from Windhoek to Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain, takes 4 to 5 hours, heading northwest through Omaruru and Uis before reaching the Brandberg area near the Ugab River. Much of the route runs on good tarmacked road (the B2 towards Omaruru/Uis), though the final stretch is on gravel. On the way, you pass through classic Namibian semi-desert scenery – open plains, dramatic rock formations, and increasingly rugged terrain as the mountain’s granite bulk rises into view.
