Canoeing on the Touw River

Step into a canoe and discover the calm waterways of the Wilderness National Park! You can rent a canoe at the Fairy Knowe Hotel (and pay the SAN Parks fee) and set off directly onto the scenic Touw River. Each canoe comes with large splash-proof buckets to keep your picnic and camera safe and dry. You can then choose from three routes, with the most popular being the one to the Touw River Waterfall. This one involves 40 minutes of paddling and a 2,5 kilometres boardwalk leading to the waterfalls – perfect setting for a picnic and a swim. Bird lovers can also take the Island Lake route, offering 5 hours of paddling through reed beds teeming with birdlife.
