Loita Hills Basecamp is a small scale tented ecocamp in the Loita Hills, in between Nairobi and the Masai Mara National Reserve. A stay here allows you to explore the Maasai culture while enjoying the untouched nature on a beautiful campsite. Enjoy the view while sleeping in small basic tents under thatched roofs in a campsite build with purely natural materials (clay walls, thatched roofs, wood). Amenities are basic but nice with basic beds and bathrooms outside under a starry sky.
The camp offers lots of activities that allow you to get in touch with the Maasai and their lifestyle. Learn how to build a fire, find tracks of animals or which plants have what medicinal use. Listen to old stories around the fire at night and become a Maasai warrior – by doing a real training, or just in your dreams at night… Highly recommended!
