Diani Beach

Diani Beach in the south of Kenya is an exceptionally beautiful stretch of beach close to Mombasa. Voted as one of the top 10 beach destinations in Africa this is a pearl that you don’t want to miss…!

Diani Beach lies approximately twenty kilometers south of Mombasa. It’s a fifteen kilometers long beach lined with coconut trees, white powdery sand, amazing sunsets and beautiful resorts… On top of that, there are some recommendable high-class restaurants, watersport centers, supermarkets and several shopping centers.

Diani Beach is relatively small, but it definitely has one of the most amazing beaches in the world. It was voted Africa’s leading beach destination in 2017, which was the third time in a row. The village even has its own airstrip, making it easily accessible from Kenya’s capital Nairobi, as it is just an hour flight away!

Wildlife in Diani

Diani has stunning aquatic life for people who want to explore the Indian Ocean. Take your chance to see dolphins just off the coast, spot humpback whales in September or swim with whale sharks from January to March. Snorkelers and divers will find corals filled with seahorses, nudibranchs, ghost pipe fish and many more colorful fish.

However, Diani doesn’t just offer wildlife underwater. It’s also one of the few places where you can spot baboons, vervets, sykes and even the rare colobus monkey on a daily basis. Small mammals like dik-diks and many species of tropical birds also still live in this area.

What Diani has to offer

People who want to be active, will also enjoy Diani Beach. Not only can you go snorkeling or scuba diving, you can also go kite surfing, windsurfing, do boat rides or go jet skiing. Diani has its own golf course and there are regular art expositions. People who still want more safari can visit the Shimba Hills, a coastal forest full of wildlife like forest elephants, waterbucks, sable antelopes and the occasional leopard.

And don’t forget that Diani is THE place to be during the festive season. It has quite some iconic bars and restaurants that won’t disappoint you. Plan your trip with us and you’ll be sure you don’t miss anything Diani has to offer!
