For this bird excursion, you need to be an early bird. Meeting at the Stanford launch site at 5.30 AM, you depart at 6 AM on the African Queen, floating down the Klein River in groups of 4 to 6 people as the sun rises on the horizon. An enthusiastic bird lover steers your boat and tells you everything about the local birdlife, with as many as 50 different bird species. Bring your binoculars, camera, bird books and apps, and enjoy coffee, tea and rusks while cruising down the river for 2 to 3 hours. This activity should be booked online in advance.
