From the bustling Jinja you drive to Kibale National Park today, known as the primate capital of the world. The park hosts the most chimpanzees and monkey species in the world and monkey lovers will have a blast discovering all 13 species (the L’Hoest monkey, olive baboon, vervet monkey, grey-cheeked Mangabey, Uganda red Colobus and Prince Demidoff’s bushbaby to just name a few). The drive takes about 7 hours and the landscapes are diverse, from lush greenery along the riverbanks to grasslands and evergreen rainforest when you approach Kibale.
