Cave tour at the Point of Human Origins

Did you know that all humans alive today trace their ancestry back to a small group who lived 150,000 to 200,000 years ago – and that some of them lived right here in Mossel Bay? The Point of Human Origins tour takes you into the Pinnacle Point Site Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the earliest evidence of modern human behaviour. During a 60 to 90-minute tour, you’ll explore a cave where ancient artefacts are still visible, and learn about early human life. Access is only possible on a guided tour, which must be booked in advance. Wear proper shoes, because the descent is steep, and the climb back up is a bit of a workout!
