Camp Xakanaxa

In Moremi Game Reserve, Camp Xakanaxa (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) sits on the banks of the Khwai River at the edge of Xakanaxa Lagoon – one of the few camps in Botswana offering land and water safaris all year round. The camp has 11 all-canvas Meru-style tents as well as a two-bedroom family tent, each with a private deck with loungers and ensuite showers, basins and toilet facilities. The main area stretches over the river on raised platforms and includes a lounge with a dining area, a sundeck, a plunge pool, and a second larger swimming pool in the grounds (two places to cool off after a dusty game drive!). Evenings stay simple, with generator power during the day and lantern light at night, which keeps the old-style safari feel very much alive!
