Mount Gahinga Lodge

Just north of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, lies the Mount Gahinga Lodge. This exceptional lodge features 8 traditional hand-built bandas, each offering stunning views of the Virunga Volcanoes. The lodge is a great base for gorilla- and golden-monkey trekking, thanks to a private footpath leading directly into the national park.
The ensuite bandas are beautifully decorated in a classic style, featuring wooden floors, high ceilings, large windows, a fireplace and a private porch. What’s more, each room is attended by a personal butler, making guests feel they are treated like royalty. The lodge’s common areas include a dining room, a lounge, a garden and a restaurant that offers a diverse menu of international and local dishes. After intense trekking, however, the spa and fitness centre might be your favourite place to go, especially if you know that all massages are complimentary (subject to prior booking and availability). For added convenience, a free laundry service is also available, so if your adventurous day searching for gorillas gets a bit too muddy, you’ll have a freshly cleaned outfit ready for the next day.
