The drive from the Khwai Community Concession to Savuti is a somewhat challenging 4×4 route which takes 4 to 5 hours. Before entering the Savuti area of Chobe National Park (Mababe Gate), you will tackle an interesting mix of dusty gravel and, depending on the weather conditions, potholed marsh roads. Treat this journey as a day of game viewing with stops along the way as you pass some of Chobe’s wildlife-rich areas. Elephants, lions and a variety of birds are often spotted beside the road here. And no matter how often you stop, you’ll most likely still arrive in time for a late lunch and a sundowner game drive in the Savuti!
